Sun 7th February
Back in Perth, and with wifi, after a few days in Yallingup down in the South West where the wine comes from. We stayed with Linda and Ross in a nice big "chalet", as before think Swiss rather than beach, surrounded by a few acres of bush. Lizards (big) on the decking and roos in among the trees. We walked along the shore path from Dunsborough to Meelup, saw Blue Wrens and New Holland Honeyeaters, swam in crystal clear Pacific Ocean, and got a little bit burnt.
On Saturday we helped out with the Vasse Market which Ross runs. About 50 stalls selling everything from honey to dustbin deodorants. We were deputed to sell the artisan bread from the local wood-fired bakery (trusted because it usually sells itself) - we sold out 30mins before closing time. Lots of chat with interesting stall holders including a UK ex-civil engineer (female) who now runs a small mixed farm and sells handmade goats milk soap.
Today I drove Linda's car the 3 hours back to Perth which is beginning a heat wave, the outside temperature registered by the car topped out at 42C, which is 108F. It certainly felt hot when we got out of the aircon! Fortunately the temperature in Hobart tomorrow is forecast to be 23C.

| One for Joe - the government has just installed charging points between Perth and Augusta about 50km further South than Dunsborough, where we saw this Canberra registered Tesla. Don't know how it got across the Nullabor desert (probably on the the back of a truck) |
