Arrived in Asia

31st Jan

It's half past midnight (16.30 in Sheffield) and we are here in Kuala Lumpur, staying in the Hilton no less. I got up at 7.30am on Friday and have had no sleep on either flight - so that means I have been awake for 41 hours. I may put the do not disturb sign out.

The Emirates flights have been good, if a bit full, which with an A380 means a lot of people and baggage to process on and off. Although I haven't slept I have watched The Martian, Spectre and a bit of the latest Mad Max (it's rubbish). Following Andrew's advice, I watched the whole of the second season of The Detectorists - I'm now a convert.

Time for a shower and bed, which is about 1.5 times wider than it is long.

That's better, it's 11.42, a decent sleep and no longer running just on adrenalin.

Dubai Airport is impressive, it was the largest building in the world when first built.
Louise thinks Changi has more class - this reminds her of the Kardashians, though she has never seen the programme.

This is what she was looking at - the wall of lifts which take you up 5 floors from the train linking the A concourse to the B concourse. Lots of glass, running water and blingy flowers.
